The Shiny Shell

As it sits there in the sun,
Glistening, gleaming, and glamorous
Its shimmering reflection blinds my eyes,
A shiny shell on the beach.
I pick it up with my smooth, warm hands,
Looking at its beautiful shape.
When I turn it around, to look inside,
It is filled with particles of sand.
It slips into my pocket carefully,
From my warm hands.
I decide to keep this shell,
And to take it home with me.
When I am asleep,
The shell is still in my pocket.
It welcomes me, it warms my heart,
It joins me in my dreams.
