The simple butterfly,

An animal of beauty and mystery.

A flap of their wings decides a fate,

From flower to flower, life is what it creates.

But the simple butterfly is ignored and overlooked.

I hear their whispers, from lands close and far.

A bright moment in time, shining like a star.

They tell tales of dull and gold,

But in their delicate woven cocoon, those stories are told.

But the simple butterfly is ignored and overlooked.

The simple butterfly, it sings in the skies,

It sings in the forests the fields and by the frogs it spies.

It flies through the golden trees but now the simple butterfly settles,

The simple butterfly sits between the posies and nettles.

But the simple butterfly is overlooked.

The simple butterfly sits,

The simple butterfly lays on the flower of gold,

But now it is still, its children’s life it must fill.

Love is what it sought, and new life is what it brought,

But the simple butterfly is ignored and overlooked.
