As I walk home I stop,

No need to worry,

No time limit,

No class I have to attend,

It’s just me and my thoughts,

And the wild spirit of the outdoors,

Winter melts into the earth,

Crushed by the heat of the afternoon sun,

Spring starts to bud from the leafless branches of trees,

In the light blue sky above clouds drift gently,

One second there is a bird taking flight,

The next,

A horse galloping over a meadow,

Mane flapping in the wind,

I run across the road,

My feet pounded the grass beneath me,

The patch of flowers in the corner growing day by day,

The weeds escaping from the concrete driveway,

I walk, walk past the chaos that is my house,

And dream, dream of the new day ahead,
