The Things that go Unnoticed

The ground beneath my feet,

crunches as I step foot on the rainforest floor.

There is a world in the mess of dirt and dead leaves.

A world that is oblivious to me.

An animal skitters across the ground,

hiding behind the thick trunk of a mossy tree.

Hiding from me.

Vines crawl like veins throughout the rainforest.

Grabbing on to everything. Squeezing hard.

A minuscule spider darts along an alien tree.

This world so large, its beauty almost unseen.

Birds chatter in the distance, sharing exquisite songs.

The chorus of music fills the air,

creating a forest melody.

Rays of sunlight filter through the thick canopy,

providing the only source of light in an otherwise dark place.

The smell of the earth wafts into my nose,

reminding me of where I am.

I feel peaceful,

calm, content.
