The Tree

Day by day,
the roots that sprouted from a tree,
sprouted a trunk,
the trunk of a tree.
This tree grew tall
with branches fit for climbing
climbing that children would partake
for the next 50 years
those children grew old
matured away from this tree.
this very tree which was now a stump
where the children now sat
no more climbing
just a stump.
