I adore the tree near my garden.

There is beauty in each leaf.

I love all the things about her

But I fear her life is brief.

I adore the tree near my garden.

She makes shade where I can rest.

I lie under her canopy

Watching birds play in their nest.

I adore the tree near my garden.

All the rain, she makes it fall.

The droplets from the silver clouds

Make crops and plants grow tall.

I adore the tree near my garden,

I inhale the air she makes,

Inhaling oxygen from her

With every breath I take.

“I adore the tree near my garden!”

I wail, yell and cry,

As the greedy people approach her

And tell me “She shall die.”
