The Truth of Winter

Freezing to the bones

Not enough food

Pain of hunger and thirst

The freezing wind whistling in the animals' faces

Having to eat whatever they find

Feeling like they're at the top of Mount Everest

Needing the help of others

Crying for help but no one to answer

The whiteness taking over like a virus 

The final darkness coming over the animals left outside

The nightmare we all fear coming to them at last
