As I look out my window, what do I see?

Beautiful greenery staring back at me.

A vast blue sky as clear as day,

The blissful flowers leading my nose astray.

Lakes mirroring the sky above,

And the furry friend that I love.

Air that dances with snowflakes when its cold,

With land that’s blanketed by snow.

Now alight with sun rays, as bright as gold,

Where did the time go?

Trucks come and go as the city grows,

The air is not so pleasant for one’s nose.

Into a concrete jungle that never sleeps,

The new streets filled with car beeps.

The shining night sky, no longer as bright,

As the factories are now alive day and night.

As time passed the green disappeared,

And just as I feared, it hasn’t appeared.

So, I ask myself where did all it go?

That beautiful view from my window.
