The Water's Edge

Splash! The sound of the glistening blue waves crash gently ashore
Seagulls chirp with the oceans roar
The warmth of the sun burning my skin
Velvety gold sand beneath my feet
Sun kissed and tanned
The tranquil and refreshing water
A haven from the craziness of the world
The rhythm of the ocean ringing in my ears
Salt scented breeze, a tingle in my nose
As I gaze out at the waves, rolling in from afar
The warmth of the sun burns my skin
As the waves approach the rocks with care,
A symphony of sound and motion
The shallow water shimmers like a sheet of crystal glass
Palm trees around me dance in the wind,
The salty air clings to my hair
As childrens' laughs echo across the beach
The sun sets, painting the sky with tints of soft colours
Beachgoers begin to make their way home
But the memories we’ve made, forever true
Tomorrow a new day, but today we grew
