The Wattle Tree

The wattle tree so close to my heart,
A little yellow arch.
Flowers like yellow baubles on a Christmas tree,
it must be Santa’s favourite flower.
Other trees may fall down but the wattle tree proudly stands tall.
Tiny buds transforming into flowers like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon.
A mass of yellow balls, a spectacular display dazzling in my eyes.
My special wattle tree.
