The Waves

To the beach I went with my family,
It was a hot summer day, so without any thought we figured, ‘Why not?’
It took about one toughly hour to get there,
By a car we went, driving along the roads of the city, we finally entered the beach.

As I mentioned it was a hot day, so we went because life needs a bit of excitement,
It was not for a particular reason - just a little getaway,
Of course, I wanted to go, spending quality family time is important to me.

Alas, we were there,
The sight of endless water sparkling in the sun,
And the different variations of shells amongst the sand,
People left and right playing games and resting,
Not to forget the sand castles that looked more like sand mountains trying to be built.

The birds soaring through the sky made a magical sound,
The air was so fresh and smelt divine,
The taste of my ice-cream in my hand, while the waves touch me gently,

I think this was an experience not to forget,
The memories stayed with me,
And I can look back on it now when I’m stuck at home,
And think about things I could do, that are impossible to conquer now!
