I sit you in the ground,
Over time I watch you grow,
You fit in perfectly with your normal background,
You watch nobly as time flies,
Just like a god from the skies,
Friends come and friends go,
Some green, some mean,
You sit still like a mighty mountain,
Yet flap in the wind like a flag.
Described in many ways, home, beauty and nature,
Some see you as an intruder, some see you as decoration,
But I see you as a friend.
To me you’re like a filter, blocking out all negativity,
Sitting outside my window in such a protective way.
Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me.
You’re truly more than just a tree.
