A rolled-up furball,

Clenched to a tree,

I see another,

Just like me,

It looks as if,

All is well,

But how long will they last?

How long until they don't inhabit this earth?

She awakens,

Feeds on eucalyptus,

In the shade,

Gently warm,

By the balmy sun,

Suddenly,

We smell smoke, vapour and gas,

We are suffocating,

We look around only to find flames,

I look around again,

No more koalas are left,

Soon I will experience the exact same fate
