Tiger Eye Necklace

Hung around the strand, weighed down by my stone
My string is dark and textured, elegantly sewn
I hang around your neck, stone laid on your chest
It is smooth and coffee-coloured, unlike all the rest
I have seen it all, happy and sad times
I have seen loved ones, treasured like dimes
I have heard heartbeats, and thoughts loudly spoken
I have heard punishment, and deeds rewarded with token
My stone is Tiger Eye, a gem unlike the animal
I am not widely known of, in fact quite minimal
My meaning is simple: come courage, rid fear
But I can only help a couple hearts as long as I am here
I am not the best, not elegant, not beautiful
However I’m a healer, strong and dutiful
I’m an expert on emotions, I know what you feel
But I won’t always be with you, so here is the deal
I’m threaded like a bead, however only one
Made, sold, discarded, not a life worth won
When negativities strong, let me be your helper
I may be a mere stone, but I’m as wise as I am elder
