to protect (to destroy)

humanity.
oh, how we wonder what our purpose on this earth is.

we're here to admire Mother Nature, wouldn't you think?
(we've stripped her down to a barren wasteland). 

yeah, I'd think so. to serve her and tend to her needs.
(we rip her up to cater to our own). 

to keep the wondrous creatures safe, to ensure no harm befalls them.
(extinct. they're all extinct. we harmed them, we killed them, we still do.)

we are here to give to the earth, give her care, to nurture her.
(we take more of her. more from her. all of her). 

to make sure our future generations have a beautiful place to live.
(there'll be nothing left by then). 

we are here to protect the earth.
(we are here to destroy her).
