Birds as white as snow

Dangling and shaking like a seesaw.

I couldn’t imagine how the birds would have felt

When the crunching feet stomped through their sunset dry leaves.

Edge of the riverbank

shimmering glitter

Where the sun poured into the river.

The leaves waved at me

in the flow of the calming wind.

Gum leaves

The smell which touched my soul

A strong smell of sweet ginger.

I couldn’t bare staying awake

sitting under a fascinating tree

As if the tree sang me a lullaby

slowly pushing me to sleep

With the chilliest cool breeze.
