The water was cold yet inviting, encapsulating me with a warm embrace

My lungs swelled like a tree frog filled large with rich Australian air

Fish darted, startled by my uninvited presence, their scales gleamed like silver as shiny as a pearl

Such rhythmic swimming would make anyone at ease

My eyes set upon a deserted yet joyous yabby,

Its nest barren and dry nestled among the dirt banks, the water slowly encroaching

The muffled songs of birds harmoniously sang above the water, softly coming to a stop

Getting out, a final glimpse of the crystal water snatched my eyes

Its beauty unmatched and its power unrivalled, simply left to stir elegantly for the rest of time
