I can taste the fresh, salty air

I can feel the cool, windy breeze tickling up my back

I can see the waves playing with each other, splish, splash, sploshing about.

But deep, deep down is a disastrous display

The ocean floor is covered with disarray

Empty bottle cans, plastic lids, fish nets

It becomes so contaminated that

Wildlife have to leave their homes.

What once was filled with fish, crabs and reptiles

Is now a barren wasteland, with not a single soul.

Unless.

Unless we can find a solution for all this pollution

Disrespecting the ocean is a deadly sin

Unless we make sure to keep our items with us

The fauna will have nowhere to go.

Unless we make a change, unless we take a stand

We will continue to ruin creatures’ lives, and ours

Come together to sustain our waters

If we do this right, it will be a breakthrough

From murky brown, the water will be bright blue.
