Where land meets its waters,
An ominous glow comes from below,
Incubated in its own beauty,
Stretching as far as the eye can go.

But in every ripple and every flow,
New waves seem to grow,
Day by day it washes our shores,
Slowly taking in more and more.

Intoxicated by our carelessness,
Consumed by our everyday waste,
We ask why so reckless,
We ask why don't we act with haste.
