From the concrete I look out,
To the glossy waters rippling across
Its cohesive waves
Possessing the calm I do not feel
The rage and anger transformed
Into an unsettling numbness

The fluid transformation of emotion
Like the water of the lapping harbour below

The sun hanging low in the sky,
Its brightness too was dimmed
As it looked down on the small boats
Struggling to stay afloat
In the deep vast ocean
Shadows were cast across them,
From the towering buildings far beyond

And there I was,
Observing from afar,
Looking over at my special place,
And slowly but surely,
My emotions were washed away

Just like the waves,
As effortless as the tide comes and goes
And soon, I too was washed away with it
Leaving only the memories
The memories I was finally able to let go

I had finally found peace,
As I stood there watching out on the waves
