What The World Could Have Been

The lush green grass crunching underneath our feet,
Big tall trees blowing in the wind, giving us oxygen,
The bees buzzing while collecting pollen helping the flowers grow,
The great big sun keeping us warm,
The soft light dirt helping the native animals borrow,
The beautiful scent of flowers making our day.
Then the machines come!
Animals fleeing for their lives,
Creatures losing their precious homes,
Billions of animals dying a year from deforestation,
The big, tall trees falling from above,
The birds chirping for help,
The animals starting to eat the horrible toxic rubbish,
And choking in extreme pain.
We think back to those majestic days,
When the birds chirped in glee,
When the animals weren’t afraid.
Now we realise we have failed!
