Where the Penguins Live

Where the Emperor Penguins live,
something is happening—
Mother Nature is tearing her own creatures apart—
because of us.
She can’t bear to live
in this cruel
unjust,
unfair, world.
She swipes glaciers into her grasp,
Plunging them into the cold-hearted,
choppy waves.
Engulfing them willingly, rising up to their incoming dominance.
Soon enough, hundreds of colonies of Emperors
will perch on a single iceberg.
Achieving nothing
but boredom.
But we humans are so good at achieving one thing—
making change.
Why can't we change the fate of the penguins?
