Whispers of the Eucalyptus Tree

On a perch in green, I rest and dream,
up above on a soaring branch, beside the stream.
Eucalyptus whispers, stories unfold,
of ancient times and secrets untold.
Beneath the sun’s warm, golden rays,
I sway gently, in nature’s blaze.
The wind softly sings a lullaby so sweet,
while leaves dance around, in a rhythmic-like beat.
I’ve seen kookaburras laugh and play,
gazed at koalas munch on a leafy buffet.
Through rain and shine, I've held on just fine,
even glimpsed the stars in twilight.
I’ve heard tales of the Magic Pudding's might,
and of Gumnut Babies, so pure and bright.
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie, with hearts so true,
adventures in the bush, under skies that were ever so blue.
But oh, to be free, to fall and explore,
the bush's floor, with wonders galore.
To roll and tumble, and find my place,
in this great big puzzle of this wondrous space.
So here I wait, with patience and grace,
or the moment I join Bamal's embrace.
For a gumnut’s journey, though small it may be,
is a grand adventure, that shall be wild and free.
