Whistling Birds

I love listening to the birds because it makes me feel happy and peaceful.

The lorikeets smell like flowers,

The spoonbills taste like fresh pudding,

The cassowaries feel like soft clouds,

Their whistle is relaxing to listen to, like swaying trees.

Eagles flap their beautiful wings,

Darters fly over riverbanks,

Cormorants dive for food,

The magpie warbles in the rays of sunshine,

The parrots chirp in the morning light.

Pelicans open their big bills,

Cockatiels whistle their beautiful song,

I ask, “Where are you going?”

They answer, “The future, my boy, the future.”
