Why, Why, Why?

Oh, leaves like gold,
as seasons come and go,
your branches are frozen and unfrozen,
So why, why, why,
do they tear your roots,
before you can even fly?
The crimes they forgot,
only decades after -
Do they care if you rot?
You watched generation after generation
from infants 'til death,
but to them, you’re forsaken.
Of all species, they’re the dumbest,
How do they cause so much pain?
No questions will be answered,
before towards the ground, you plummet.
