Wild Fire

Water vanished from plain sight
Not leaving a single cloud in sight
It brought more sun, which wasn’t fun
It dried the ground, it turned it brown
It covered our feet in dust from the once filled creeks
Leaving us with the dried trees and leaves
Rustling every once in a while, getting caught in a small gust of hot air
Animals came out to hunt for the golden liquid
That kept them afloat, which saved them from dying because of heatstroke
Drowning in the sun, was no fun
We tried to get water, but it didn’t work
We tried to have fun but we’d burn in the crisp sun
All the dirt made us frown
As it covered us in brown
We prayed for clouds to come
But instead, our prayers were answered with the beast of the sun
The fire was starting to come.
Furious flames fly from the fire,
Further and further it spread.
In the dark of the night, the fire
makes it seem bright.
Rumbling with the wood it rages and roars,
It smiles a bright flickering smile
before devouring more homes.
As people run.
Eventually, it dies
Just like tired eyes.
It assassinated the town
Destroying homes, and the prized
Possessions of all those,
Who feared the presence
Of the beast.
The wild untamed flames.
