Daniel Hansen

My name is Daniel Hansen and I am a 28 year old Nyoongar writer from Armadale, Perth.

I started to write poems when I was younger but have now moved on to writing more deeply involved poems and also I have started writing short stories. I am a father of three, two boisterous sons aged 7 and 5 plus a gorgeous attitude filled daughter who is turning 2 this year.

I started writing 18 years ago when I was 11 years old and I first heard Eminem's album The Marshall Mathers LP and fell in love with Hip Hop, something I believe is another form of poetry. After studying Tupac's outlook on poetry, writing and expression of self I was able to refine my craft. Writing has helped me through a lot of hard times and I owe a lot to it, I like to incorporate my belief in spirit and dreamtime that I have experienced through my life into my writing.
