Gabrielle Journey Jones is a spoken word poet with a deep interest in creativity and wellbeing. Gabe is from Māori and African bloodlines, living on Djiringanj Country Bega NSW. She has four poetry collections published by Ginninderra Press and is inspired by creative communities which celebrate diversity, activism and inclusion. In 2026, Gabrielle launched her audiobook 20 Years of Spoken Word Poetry reading 175 poems from her books.

With over thirty years of experience performing poetry at local, national, and international events, Gabe also facilitates workshops in spoken word and drumming. Her podcast with Wilfred Roach, All That We Perceive, explores her reflections as a queer, black poet in Australia and is accessible via Podbean.

Gabe has a triptych of poems in Admissions (2022) anthology “which showcases more than one hundred works challenging prescribed notions of illness, recovery, treatment and trauma while reclaiming language as an act of mad pride.”
