ganma-li

Your memory of my love is longer than mine
It reaches back to days when I could lose you
Simply by closing my eyes
Or letting go of your hand in a crowd
Your hands always seem so full,
Warm with the fire of your passion
For justice and a good cuppa tea
I’m not ready to carry all that yet.
ganma-li means 'to hold' in Gamilaraay
Write a poem about a time you were not here to make friends. What was your real goal? Why did you need to do it yourself?

#30in30 #PoetryMonth
I'm so honoured to be part of Poetry Month this year because it's an art form that I really love. It's a form that offers emotional truths and I think there's real beauty in that and real bravery.
