Sarah Holland-Batt is a poet, critic, and Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. Her most recent book, The Hazards, won the Prime Minister’s Literary Award for Poetry in 2016, and her honours include fellowships from Yaddo and MacDowell in the United States, a Chateau de Lavigny Fellowship in Switzerland, and the Australia Council Literature Residency at the B.R. Whiting Studio in Rome. In 2016 she was awarded a Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship, which recognises “outstanding talent and exceptional artistic courage.” Since 2020 she has written the Poet’s Voice column for The Australian newspaper, supported by the Judith Neilson Institute for Journalism and Ideas and the Copyright Agency; a volume of her collected columns is forthcoming from UQP in late 2021.
