Campfire

Fire crackled
Embers flew
Logs burned
And ground was glowing red hue
Flames licked marshmallow
And with a shred of delight
Marshmallow ran from flame
Only to be eaten this beautiful night
Around the fire
Laughter flourished
Spirits were high
This kind of happiness cannot be demolished
Flames rose
Against the midnight sky
Smoke swirled
Up ever so high
Fire tickled
The old billy can
Hot cocoa it was for
Around all this little children ran
