The Tarkine, a special forest

Home to lots of wildlife

The Tasmanian Devil, a Pademelon

Probably even a Thylacine, not that any have been seen

It’s home to many endangered species, a wonderful place

You can hear the birds sing, a wombat scurrying away into the bushes

Majestic trees, swaying in the breeze

We need to save this beautiful place at Tasmania’s base. It must be kept safe

We, are the ones, holding the mace at the base of each tree

Chop chop chop…. creak smash

Down it goes, as old as time, before its time

They don't know, they just think it‘s any other tree, like all the others they’ve massacred before

It smashes to the ground, screaming, weeping, crying

Destruction all around

It’s such a shame, we’re the only ones to blame, for causing this pain

We should be ashamed

But it’s not too late

Not too late to make a difference

Before it is too late, and it’s gone

Gone and forgotten
