The haunting bells that ring outside murmur in my ears all night.
The sounds gently unwrap themselves and transform into a fog of voices.
The voices then blow into shadows.
Silhouettes start to form and lurk around out of sight,
They haunt me till the morning’s light-there’ll be no sleep for me
tonight.
The moon comes into position and plays its shining role.
Slowly walking down stairs, I feel the cold breeze sweep through my hair.
Lost shadows from my past follow from behind and stare at me in the silent
night.
Out of breath I walk outside, shaking fear that builds inside.
I’m struck by its sinful, staining, spirits that spreads itself like faulty ink.
My bones become discoloured
I fall on my knees while watching the moon’s light wash away.
Guilty thoughts of mine that collide,
no more places left to hide.
