After sheltering in the creek for winter,

Every poem helps plant a tree

“I don't really care if I win, I just want a tree to be planted.”

~ Ginger, Year 3, Chewton Primary School (VIC)

POEM FOREST is a free nature writing prize that breathes life back into the natural world that sustains us.

In 2023, the POEM FOREST started growing on Dharawal Country in the Wollongong LGA, in partnership with Wollongong City Council. With more than 6,400 entries, each of these poems from students across the continent has contributed to growing a forest of poems for future generations.
