For every poet, everywhere
Our much-loved poetry workshop series returns this August as part of Poetry Month 2026, bringing world-class poets straight to your screen and in person. Whether you're just beginning or looking to refine your craft, this year’s series offers something for everyone.
Join acclaimed international poets Jericho Brown (US), Pádraig Ó Tuama (Ireland), Tusiata Avia (NZ), and Michael Pederson (Scotland) online for masterclasses in form and beyond. Explore disability poetics online with Robin M Eames, and join Hera Lindsay Bird and Evelyn Araluen in person in Sydney as they open up modes of self-expression and creating confessional poems.
Whether this is your first foray into writing poetry, or you’re a career poet looking to brush up on your skills, these sessions will provide fresh creative inspiration, techniques and pathways into poetry. Join us for one or all sessions - and be sure to book early as these sessions tend to sell out!

Poem Forest Schools Workshops
Poem Forest is a free nature writing program and prize that breathes life back into the natural world that sustains us. Created by Red Room Poetry, in partnership with Wollongong City Council, Poem Forest invites students and teachers to use their words to make positive climate action.
For every nature poem received, a tree is planted to help heal habitats and create a Poem Forest for future generations. Since 2021, over 22,800 poem trees have been planted.
Join us for a free digital workshop with Goori storyteller Dakota Feirer during National Science Week.
