Putting Poetry Back on the Airwaves
Red Room Poetry began as a community radio show, and we haven’t lost sight of our audio roots — publishing podcasts, site-responsive audio works, interviews, and audio commissions is part of our lifeblood.
In 2025, we launched Line Break in partnership with the national broadcaster, ABC Radio National, to bring you a weekly poem from poets across the continent. Featuring over 40 poets from every state and territory, this national initiative features poets of all styles and career stages to showcase the incredible depth and variety of contemporary poetic practice alive in Australia today and recognises that poetry is often meant to be read and listened to aloud.
Tune in to Line Break's weekly poem on ABC Radio National — every Wednesday between 12:50-1:00 pm — and experience a contemporary poem read in the poet’s own voice.
