Poetic residencies supporting poets to develop their practice in new ways.

As part of Poetry Month 2022, Red Room Poetry is proud to present the pilot Poets in Residence program, supported by City of Sydney.

Open to all NSW residents and taking place during August 2022, the two selected Poets in Residence will be engaged at Green Square Library for a period of writing, reading and performing poetry on site, engaging the general public in various ways and showcasing City of Sydney library collections.

2022 Poets in Residence

Congratulations to our inaugural Poets in Residence, Mohammad Awad and Dan Hogan!

Mohammad's project will engage spaces in the library in creative ways to create an inviting and collaborative work space for community members, with a focus on mental health.

Dan's project will produce a new poem each week, drawing influence from the preoccupations and methodology of 'High Water', the public artwork at the library which transforms live data from tides and local weather patterns into a perpetually transforming watercolour artwork reflecting our rapidly changing climate.
